Leg 2: Expected to be Another Windy Day

posted Jun 16, 2011, 6:24 AM by Stefanie Verret
Good Morning!

The teams are heading to the beach and starting to prepare for another windy day today, with similar conditions to yesterday's leg. This 91 nm leg will take the teams from Mustang Island to Matagorda Island. We are expecting 11 teams to start today, but will provide an update once all teams have arrived at the beach.

Team Zhik 3, Team Zhik 1, Team Cat Alley, and Team Jack Flash have retired from the remainder of the GT; however, Zhik 1 has hopes of completing the Dash leg on Saturday. Team Chums will not start today and will trailer their boat to Matagorda in order to make fiberglass repairs to their damaged hull.

Live coverage of the start will be available at: http://www.gt300.com/Home/gtlive and check out clips of yesterday's leg at: http://www.justin.tv/onthewateranarchy/videos. We don't expect to have a Happy Hour Broadcast tonight in order to let the teams rest and make repairs after another tough day on the water. But tune into the live finish coverage to see interviews with the teams as they arrive at Matagorda Island.
