Start at Surfside Beach in front of the Beach Access Road at the end of the causeway to Surfside from Clute, 60 minutes in front of the GT300 sailors, 40 miles to the finish at East Beach/RA Apfell Park in Galveston.

Liability boat insurance required 

Boats must have a Portsmouth Number published by US Sailing http://www.ussailing.org/portsmouth/pyindex.asp in order to enter the event and be scored. Use of modifiers is allowed per the Portsmouth Guidelines. For example; addition of a spinnaker or square top main are legal modifications and have a modifier listed. However, a stock boat that does not already have wings accounted for in its stock configuration cannot add them as there is no modifier listed. Latest Portsmouth numbers published by May 1st will be used. It is the responsibility of each skipper to understand and register properly the stock boat name and modifiers being used. Improper registration may be grounds for disqualification.

 

Any other deviations from standard class configurations, including the addition of wings, can be assessed a penalty of at least 0.995. Multiple deviations may incur multiple penalties. Penalties may be greater than 0.995. Please identify any such modifications and penalties assigned and include with results reported to the handicap committee and Portsmouth Numbers Committee.

 

The 2010 Surfside to Galveston Dash- Registration opens March 1st and ends June 1st any registration received or postmarked after that date will be required to include a $20.00 late fee, any registration received received postmarked after May 1st without the late fee will not be accepted and returned to sender. Any registration received without funds will be discarded. Please include completed Team Registration and Release form. A maximum of 15 boats will be allowed.
